Much needed update

I know I'm much overdue for an update. Although, first things first - I checked the stats for this blog out of curiousity and it seems I have 40 regular readers! Thank you so much; it's much more than I hoped for. Please feel free to leave comments and let me know you are out there. As much as I love asking questions, I also like answering them - so ask away!

Ok, update time - I am happy to announce that everything was settled with the flight school. I got all of my money back and I was released of all charges for the window! It was such a relief off of my shoulders and I'm glad to put it behind me... FINALLY!

Secondly, I've joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). It's an organization that helps the Air Force and Homeland Security with missions. I plan to be a pilot for them and the experience has been wonderful so far. I've got a nifty little uniform - a polo shirt with the logo and a gray skirt. Soon, I will have my name on my shirt which is just pretty awesome. Not that all this piloting stuff is about looks, but I look pretty "fly" when I pair the uniform with my leather bomber jacket and aviator sunglasses. I've been told that I finally have the pilot look. For a scrawny girl who looks about 12, that's a pretty big deal. ;)
Since I've started down this rabbit hole, I kept hearing "But you don't look like a pilot" from the beginning. It's nice for things to start changing around.

Unfortunately one note about the CAP - I am not able to disclose anything about the missions I do for them. So all you will hear about my adventures with them is general stuff.

Thirdly, I went to an air show in Warner Robins yesterday with two of my female friends. The furthest I've gone for an air show yet (about 2.5 hours)! The two friends I went with might join the CAP with me. More on the air show later.

Forthly and finally, last but definitely not least, I finally got back up in the air again today after an 11 week hiatus! New plane (Diamond DA 40), new airport (McCollum in Kennesaw), new instructor and new system (G1000). Absolute bliss. More on that later as well.

I will end this here, as I was up till midnight last night studying for my new position in the CAP and then because I felt like a kid on Christmas morning and had soooo much adrenaline pumping through my system that I magically woke up at 5:40am. So I am off to bed. More detailed updates within the next few days about the air show and the flight today.
